Hello spring, is that you?

This past weekend was cold, cold, cold. This is mid-May, people, and the temperature was in the low 40s. Normally this would have not been a problem (as I would have hibernated in my warm home and complained there), but given that my husband was graduating from law school it meant we would have to be outside for a light reception and pictures after his ceremony. After 3 long years of work, I envisioned many pictures with him in his robe and stylish hat, the reading room, and the beautiful law quad, but with the weather as cold and windy as it was, we snapped a few half-ready photos, skipped the (outdoor) reception and headed over to our apartment for dinner.

All of our family was in town, and it was wonderful to have everyone all together. People came in from Minneapolis, Washington DC, Albuquerque, East Lansing and Kalamazoo all to celebrate my husband and his graduation. Now that law school is done, John is studying for the bar exam which he will take the end of July. To get in character, he is growing a beard. Don’t worry – I will keep you updated on its (…the beard’s) progress. Maybe I will even post a picture or two as it develops. It is only day 3, but he is going for a Ryan Fitzpatrick kind of look.

Anyway, we are happy to close the book on law school and forge towards our next adventure – even if that means my husband giving me prickly kisses until his beard grows out a bit more (he is assuring me that this will stop after a few more days…).
