Five on Friday!

Happy Friday!  Linking up with Christina, April, Darci, and Natasha! And a HUGE congrats to Christina on the birth of her sweet Caroline!  If you don't follow her on instagram, you need to so you can catch a peek of her new cutie!!

ONE  |  Mother’s Day Weekend
Happy Mother’s Day weekend to all the mamas out there!  And a very happy Mother’s Day to my mom!  She is the source of everything good I’ve learned!

Need last minute gift ideas?  Check out my Mother's Day go-to gift list!

TWO  |  Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred

Has anyone done this before?! I bought the DVD for $6 at a consignment store, and haven’t tried it yet.  I’m not much of a “work out in your living room” kind of girl, but I thought it may be a good option on days when I don’t feel like leaving the house.

I should probably just look into the Tone it Up girls... they seem way more likable!

THREE  |  Charleston Anniversary Trip

John and I are going to Charlotte over Memorial Day weekend to celebrate with our friends Blake and Ginna on their wedding day.  John and Blake have been friends for awhile, and we are excited to watch them tie the knot!

Since we were going to be in the area (sort of), John and I decided to tack on a couple extra days to spend in Charleston.  We spent our first wedding anniversary in Charleston, so we thought it may be fun to add on a mini getaway in celebration of our third wedding anniversary only a few weeks later.

FOUR  |  Summer Eats

I cannot get enough of summer fresh fruits and vegetables.  I’m not going to lie… I even carried a whole watermelon in my purse into work, and ate the watermelon right out of the rind.  Judge if you want, but it was amazing.

Avocados, artichokes, and (tons of) berries have also been making a regular appearance.

FIVE  |  Bike Ridin’

Girls.  I am going to need some serious prayers tomorrow morning.  My friend Faerl, who I was in Colorado with last weekend, convinced me it would be a good idea to go on a 40 mile bike ride tomorrow.

Hopefully this doesn’t end badly… I have a pretty nice road bike, but have only used it a handful of times and I wasn’t super comfortable on it – we will see how it goes…

  2. You can totally pull the 40 miler! My husband cycles and the first time I EVER rode with him (and ever as an adult) he took me out on a 30 mile ride. I thought I wasn't going to make it but mind over matter for sure! I'd love to hear how you eat artichokes! I'm always so intimidated by them! Lol at the entire watermelon in your purse! See, you're already strength training for this weekend! ;) have a lovely Friday!

  8. I have that DVD and I really like it! Though I admit I've never done it through for the full 30 days because for the life of me I can't finish any kind of workout program! I really like that one because you can tell you're getting a good workout but the moves are easy enough to actually do, if that makes sense?

Good luck with your bike ride! I have a funny story about my first bike ride with my husband-- it ended up being almost 40 miles and I made it-- but I definitely shed a few tears on the way back!

  9. Charlotte is my hometown!! I hope you enjoy it! :) And you'll love Charleston I'm sure. As for 30 Day Shred, I have it! I like it merely for the fact that they are 20 minute workouts so I can get it in easily during Hadley's nap time. Let me know how you like it!

  18. Cracking up about you carrying a watermelon into work! (I also can't help but think of Dirty Dancing when I read that.) I did the Jillian 30 day shred DVD pre-wedding and they were great! I need to get back into them. They are quick and really effective! Jealous of your trip to Charleston. And good luck with that bike ride! That is Intense!

  19. You look so much like your mom....very very pretty! Love the pics! I've done the Jillian workout {I think it's the 30-day shred that I've done}, and I really liked it bc they're quick...which really interfered with my theory that I didn't have time to work out. Haha!

  23. I cant't even begin to explain how embarrassing I am on a bicycle. Spin class - sign me up, but as soon as the bike starts moving I have NO balance.
