Favorite Photo Apps

I've been in the market for a good camera for a while, but since I have yet to bite the bullet and purchase one, I use my iPhone to take all of my bloggity blog pictures.  Although the quality isn't great, it is pretty convenient having my camera (read: phone) with me pretty much everywhere I go.

Since I use my phone to take pictures, I generally edit the photos on my phone too.  That way I don't have to mess with emailing them to myself, loading them on a computer, etc.  So today I thought I would share some of my most used photo editing apps (all of which, except for one, are free!).

PicFrame, $0.99

Whenever I am looking to make a collage with my photos, I always use PicFrame.  It is super user friendly and has tons of layout options.  The app allows you to choose the size of your photos and has collage templates for up to nine photos (I usually use this app when I post my weekend recaps).

The app also has a few shape options and can be customized with colors and adjusting the width of the photo dividing lines.  It even has a few photo filters!

Phonto, Free

Phonto is the only app that I have been able to find that allows me to make translucent shapes over pictures (I usually use this app when I post recipes).  There are a ton of shapes to choose from... like this or this.  You can also adjust the translucence of the shape (making it as dark or clear as you'd like).

After you make the shape there are text options also - and many more options than the app Over (which also costs $1.99).  The down side to Phonto is that there are ads that pop up pretty frequently, but if you can get over that, then this app will likely be a favorite.

Instagram, Free

I haven't been able to find any app that offers better filters than Instagram.  As you likely know, there are a ton to choose from and many very natural looking options.  In order to avoid spamming Instagram followers with all of my photos, whenever I want to edit a photo for my blog and not have everyone see it, I just send it to directly to my husband's account (which I set up for him for this very reason...).

There may be an easier way to do this, but it has worked great for me so far... after I send a photo to him, it automatically saves in my image gallery on my phone so it is ready to use.  The downside to this app is that everything has to be a square... boo!

Snapseed, Free

I use Snapseed whenever I am looking to edit a photo more than just a filter.  For example, if I take a photo and someone's face is dark, I will use Snapseed to edit the photo to lighten the specific part of the photo that I want to edit (I don't have to lighten the whole thing).  After the photo is edited to my liking, I generally will add a filter using Instagram.

What are your favorite photo apps? Any good ones that I should know about?!

  2. I take a lot of my blog pics on my phone too, even though I do have a nice camera it's just so much easier. I use Picstitch for collages, but it definitely has limitations, so I'll have to try out Picframe. Thanks for sharing lady!

  5. Rhonna Design is my favorite! It has the most stickers the best fonts, you can outline and make things transparent, turn on a mask, use filters, it's the best!! I use it all the time. Not everything had to be square either.

  7. I love A Beautiful Mess for Instagram photos, Big Lens for slightly blurring backgrounds, and Facetune for adjusting the lighting/exposure. Facetune can take a picture taken in a poorly lit room and make it seem like you took it outside!

  8. I have Snapseed but I almost never use it! I need to start using it more to edit pictures instead of just trying to find a filter in Instagram that works!
