Our story: Our wedding day

Today is John and my 3rd wedding anniversary!
You can read about how we met here and the proposal here.

John and I were married on the most beautiful day ever (...I'm not biased at all...) in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Our ceremony was outside in the Michigan League courtyard.
The weather was forecast to rain... so much so that our wedding coordinator said we should just plan for the ceremony inside.  But I would have noneeeee of it!

I may have had a bridezilla moment, but I made it very clear that there would be no rain call until the morning (many, many prayers were said that night...).

And guess what, the weather was perfect!

Our reception was at the Gandy Dancer which is an old train station.  It's pretty cool because the train still functions (and drives by to the newly-built station a few doors down).

Our reception was also outside, under a tent, and it was absolutely beautiful.

The day went off without a hitch.

The only minor embarrassing part was when our florist came to the reception at the end to pick up the center pieces, and two homeless men walked in to my reception!

Since Ann Arbor is a college town, there are bums and people that walk around and collect cans, and these two bums were taking my centerpieces!!

I hurry and rushed to tell my florist that two homeless men were taking her things.  She laughed and told me that the two homeless men were her husband and son!

I just about died.

I am so incredibly thankful that I have been blessed with a Godly man.

John is so considerate, very handsome, incredibly hardworking, funny, and probably the smartest person I know.

I can't wait to spend the next many, many more years falling deeper in love with my man.

  22. Haha oh my goodness the homeless men! So funny. I'm so glad you had good weather on your wedding day! My reception was also outside, so I was worried, but the weather turned out to be perfect for me, too! My cousin got married yesterday, and he wasn't as lucky. It was freezing and it poured ALL DAY LONG! It was like winter came back, and only for their wedding day. So sad!

Happy anniversary to you two! Hope you have a lovely day together :)
