Weekending!

ONE  |  The weekend started with a Friday night burger dinner with John's "little" brother.  John's brother, Josh, was in town visiting his mom so we all got together for some yummy food and drinks.  It had been awhile since we last saw him so it was nice to catch up a bit.

TWO  |  Saturday morning John and I took Scout to swim in the Rio Grande River.  It's certainly not the cleanest river (and we aren't entirely certain that dogs are allowed in the river), but if you couldn't tell from the picture above, Scout had the time of her lifeeee! That little dog loves to swim!

THREE  |  I don't know about you, but for me, it's not officially summer until Jack and Lilly come out to play! I always enjoy a change of season, and my winter clothes are officially put away!

FOUR  |  The weather was way too nice not to enjoy some frozen yogurt.  Have you heard of the flavor taro?  It's some sort of root and tastes amazing!  John sticks with tart, but taro is definitely the way to go!

FIVE  |  Scout was my crafting buddy this weekend.  She was so sweet and insisted on sitting on my lap no matter where I was working... And I'm not going to lie, I totally loved it!

SIX  |  I am co-hosting a baby shower next weekend, and one of the DIYs that I was working on was a chalkboard.  I painted the frame and used a chalkboard spray paint for the backing.  I was pretty happy with how it turned out!  Real chalk doesn't write super well on it, but the chalk pens work great.

SEVEN  |  Sunday morning John and I laid out at the pool for a bit.  It's always surprising to me how empty it is there, but I am not going to complain - it's very relaxing!

EIGHT  |  I found a Pinterest recipe for strawberry cream bread, and it looked amazing!  I decided to make five mini loaves instead of one big loaf so I could gift to others (otherwise I would be eating it all myself...).

NINE  |  The weekend closed with a lovely walk with Scout.  You really can't beat the summer evenings in New Mexico - the temperature is always perfect!  It's a wonderful way to get outside and enjoy the day light without getting a heat stroke... By the way, I got in my car the other day and I'm pretty sure my seats were so hot that they burned the backs of my legs! I need to get one of those super stylish sun blocker things for my windshield...

So excited to be linking up for the first Weekending with Biana and  Meghan.

  7. The pic of Scout at the river is adorable! She is absolutely in her element. Bella has a plastic baby pool at the house that she's always in, which is all fun and games until she's a drippy mess and is ready to come inside... Looks like you had a fantastic weekend, hopefully your week is just as great!

  10. Thanks a great photo of Scout in the river!! And that chalkboard is adorable! I have found that the chalkboard pens don't always come off well if it's been painted with chalkboard paint. Maybe I'm not using the right brand or not cleaning it right??
