Weekending!

ONE  |  John and I are finally getting on the "updating our passport" train.  We are going to Seattle over Thanksgiving, and want to make sure we have passports in case we decide to go to Vancouver.  And I'm unsure what's worse - passport photos or drivers license photos... the whole "no teeth" in a passport photo is hard for me.

TWO  |  Apparently this was a movie weekend.  On Friday night John and I went to see Gone Girl.  It was, well, interesting... and that's really all I have to say.  Saturday night, we decided to stay in and watch Neighbors on On Demand... we got about half-way through and turned it off.  On Sunday, we went to go see Left Behind.  So the weekend was quite full of movies!! I guess that's all you can do when it is still pretty hot out!

THREE  |  Scout came home on Saturday and our hearts were so happy to have her back!  Most of the weekend was spent fawning over our girl!

FOUR  |  Saturday afternoon we tried to do some quail hunting, but we were outside for a total of 20 minutes before it was so dang hot out that we decided to throw in the towel and head home.  I've been told the heat breaks on October 31st... so hopefully we are almost there!!  By the way, we got Scout some hiking boots for hunting since she gets all sorts of cactus and goat heads stuck in her paws... if you don't follow me on Instagram, you need to check out her trying on her new boots - such a sad, sad, but super sweet and funny pup!

FIVE  |  Our First 5 Marriage class at church was having a couples trivia competition and brunch, and not surprisingly, our table won! Whoohoo! If there is one person I know who is good at trivia, it's my hubby.  For the brunch I made some very yummy pumpkin bars! Recipe for these bad boys coming soon... it's like cake for breakfast!

SIX  |  John and I decided to have an early dinner at a New Mexican restaurant in North Scottsdale.   The food was very tasty - but certainly not New Mexican.  John has been craving a green chile cheeseburger, so the hunt will continue... :)

  3. Gorgeous couple!!
I was just in Scottsdale/Phoenix area last weekend and was DYING over the heat (plus the humidity from the storms? Thought I was going to die!) I forget how long the heat lasts there! I would totally rather deal with that heat for 5 months than snow for 6-9 months though.
    Sounds like a relaxing weekend!!

  4. That instagram video was too funny! Passport photos are THE worst. I had to get a new one this year too. Not fun. PS I would spend more time in Seattle/Washington state area and skip Vancouver. Just my two cents.

  5. I love all of these! I had no idea about that "no teeth" rule! I am totally cheesing in my photo. Oops :) Would you recommend Gone Girl? I'm not a movie person but my husband definitely is and he has been wanting to see it :/
Also, I hope it cools off over there in AZ soon! :)

  6. Those pumpkin bars look delish. Is it humid in NM too or just dry heat? The video of Scout with her paw socks was beyond adorable!! Better than burrs in her feet! Have a happy week!

  13. Your passport photo looks so good-- even with no teeth! Did you read Gone Girl before you saw the movie? We haven't seen it yet, so I'm trying to avoid spoilers, but I haven't heard anyone say anything about it yet!

  14. I am a little jealous you are still able to wear sundresses. I tried to wear one last week and it's just too chilly.

  16. Passport pictures are terrible, what's with that not showing teeth thing, could they make it any worse?! Loved that video of Scout, too cute, glad you have her back!

  17. That video of Scout was hilarious! I cringe when I look at my passport pic haha, it was 6 years ago and I look awful!

  18. What did you think of Left Behind? I read an article saying there is no Christian/Biblical basis to this version at all.

  19. Oh my gosh that video!! LOL. I actually don't think that your passport photo is bad at all. But obviously it would be better if your teeth were showing. My husband has a fantastic passport and drivers license photo. My passport photo is awful, but my drivers license photo is good. Those pumpkin bars look and sound delicious, looking forward to seeing that recipe! That first 5 marriage class sounds interesting and like a great idea.I would love to hear more about it. We did pre-cana before we got married and that was fun. Glad that you had a fun weekend, and I hope that you're having a great day!
