It's Mondayyyy... whomp, whomppp!!
Although it's back to the grind, it's always easier after a little weekend R&R.
Here's what we've been up to recently!
***
Despite having lived in Arizona for 9 months, I just recently got a tour of John's building and office. It was so nice to see where my hubby spends all his time at work... but, I will say that the man needs some office decor.
He doesn't even have a picture of me and Scout?! What the what?! Just kidding, but no really, I think I will be purchasing him a gold stapler to bling up his office a bit. It's necessary.

This art is hanging outside of his office. Is it just me, or does this art seem strange to be hanging in a law firm (and a firm where many are required to work long hours)?
I get that art is all interpretive and stuff, so I will just chalk it up to "not getting it." I can't imagine it was inexpensive either...

We recently went to a Phoenix Suns basketball game with one of John's coworkers and his wife. We had a tasty dinner at The Arrogant Butcher before the game, and had a fun night out!

John and I have really been loving the weather lately.
All of the cacti are blooming, and it is quite beautiful!

And the nice weather means evening hikes with Scout. She loves it, we love it... it's a win all around!

John and I have been cooking dinner at home lately and are finally getting into a groove. It's our third week, and each week it's getting easier.
We recently made the most yummy quinoa stuffed peppers... I will be sharing the recipe soon - easy and way tasty!

Preserve/ranch hunting season closes this coming weekend, so Scout and John went on one last hoo-rah... and they had a blast! They got 5 chukar partridge and 2 pheasants. This was Scout's first full hunting season, and we are just so proud of that girl - she even retrieved the chukars!

Our weekends have been busy, but they have left us with full hearts! The best kind of weekends :)
That "art"… omg just no. That is downright freaky. You and scout look adorable! I am so jealous of all the hiking y'all get to do. My doggy would looove to live there haha. Happy Monday xoxox
ReplyDeleteScout is such a beautiful dog, and I absolutely love those shorts that you're wearing in that picture!
ReplyDeleteHis office totally needs some jazzing up!! That art is SO ODD, but it did make me laugh!!!
ReplyDeleteI was an art history major in college and I don't understand that art haha. I was watching something on the news last night about how if you decorate your workplace it makes you happier at work. That office definitely at least needs a picture. :-) Glad that you had a nice weekend though and enjoy your day today! :-)
ReplyDeleteUm that art is hilariously wrong for an office!
ReplyDeleteThose peppers look so yummy - can't wait for the recipe! And that "art" is cracking me up...definitely not what I would expect to find in an office!!
ReplyDeleteYou gotta get him a big old frame! Way to go scout!
ReplyDeleteScout is too cute! John's office most definitely needs a woman's touch! The basketball game looks like a great night out!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great weekend- John's office looks so nice, but would definitely look better with a few photos and things :) The blooming cacti are so pretty and as always the weather looks so perfect!
ReplyDeleteThat's so odd that they would make THAT the Art work at a law office!!! So strange, ha! That picture of you and your pup is adorable! Aren't long walks the best?! I love anything to do with quinoa so I'm excited to try your stuffed pepper recipe!!
ReplyDeleteJohn's artwork is depressing. I should show you some of the weird stuff that is hanging up around my firm. It is not much better. I cant wait for the weather to warm up around here so I can take some evening walks. I am so jealous of yours!
ReplyDeleteLooks like y'all are having a blast!! I really don't understand the artwork either... doesn't seem to promote positive feelings towards working long hours either
ReplyDeleteOoh looking forward to that recipe. Who knew cacti are pretty but you're right! That office looks like the average man's so good thing John has you to bling it up a bit ;)
ReplyDeleteThe stuffed peppers look delish!
ReplyDeleteYou definitely need to help decorate that office. :) What a nice weekend though!!!
ReplyDeleteA gold stapler would definitely help out ;) Looks like y'all had a wonderful weekend!

Ahh no picture of his favorite two?! Sounds like a great weekend! xo, Biana - BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteThat is a very sad and lonely looking office space! He should at least have some pictures. And that artwork is a little disturbing. Can't wait for that stuffed pepper recipe. Those look so yummy! Glad you had a good weekend lady! xo
ReplyDeleteYay for evening hikes with the pup! I love when it's lighter out later because that means after-dinner walks with doggy :)
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous week!
Looks like such a nice weekend! That art is so funny and yes that office could use some love! We went to a suns game last weekend, it felt like more of a show than a game, there was so much entertainment value! Glad you guys had a nice weekend :) Lucy
ReplyDeleteThose peppers look amazing!! Love the weather you're having and those cacti look beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYea... I'm not getting that art either, it's kind of creepy looking, ha! Those stuffed peppers look amazing, can't wait to see the recipe, hope y'all are having a good Monday!
ReplyDeleteLOL that art is terrifying!!
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa!
ReplyDeleteI'm Somer and I'm glad I found your blog! It is so cute!
Scout is so precious! I just started my own blog and would love for you and your followers to check it out! I thought you would be interested in reading my "Dog Behind the Blog" post, which tells a little bit about my doggie. I'd love to see your take on a post like this about Scout:)

His poor office! Guess I can't say much though. My little cubby isn't much better! And that art is very strange! I don't get it either. And girl, you are so tan! I'm jealous!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun weekend! Haha...I'm sure he'll love the gold stapler :-p Love that you get to enjoy the great weather. We are trying to go hiking here every weekend but time is tough to find. We need to stop making plans every weekend! :)
ReplyDeleteI laughed at the "art"! LOL! His office sounds like my husband's. I finally spruced it up!
ReplyDeleteThose stuffed peppers look amazing! Scout is adorable, I love a beautiful evening spent walking the pups! Xo, Stephanie
