I have a really hard time believing that today is the 1st of June - what?! I honestly feel like I just put away my Christmas decorations (well, maybe because I did... just kidding, but no really).
What's even crazier about June is that it will mean that John and I have officially lived in Arizona for 1 year! I honestly feel like we just moved here, and it's crazy to think about how quickly time has flown. We have settled in quite nicely... yet, neither of us are looking forward to the upcoming 100 degree temperatures!
Summer in the Phoenix area pretty much means getting out of dodge whenever you can (or, hibernating inside and having a pool nearby!). I figured I better start mapping out a bucket list now, that way we won't run out of "staying cool" ideas half-way through the summer!
Unlike most baseball stadiums, the Arizona Diamondbacks play inside... which means air conditioning and the works! A baseball game (or two) will most definitely be a must this summer!
Explore a New National Park
John and I love national parks, and there are several nearby that would make for a great long weekend road trip. Zion National Park is about 6 hours away, and John and I have both been wanting to explore for awhile.
And although we've been to the Grand Canyon several times, the 4 hour drive can't be beat for a weekend adventure!
A beach weekend was on my bucket list last summer, but we didn't quite get a chance to check it off. San Diego is only a 5 hour drive away, and I am absolutely determined to have a lazy, sun tannin', ocean weekend this summer!
John and I have a ton of camping gear, and a good camping trip is most certainly on my summer bucket list. And the best part is that Scout can join in on the camping fun too!
Use My DSLR
I am finalllyyy starting to pick up on how to use my DSLR properly. I have been operating under the mindset that if I'm not shooing in manual (or at least a semi-auto mode - aperture priority for the win!), then I should just be using my iPhone for the convenience.
Well, y'all, I'm finally making progress... which is why "mastering" my DSLR is on my summer bucket list (please note that by "mastering" I mean, working functionally...).
Lucky for me, I have a "model" to practice with! ;)
What's on your summer bucket list?!
