Holiday Happenings - Christmas!

I feel so behind the 2016 curve, but I'm hoping to catch up this weekend... Honestly, as of yesterday, I've still been in full-on Christmas mode! John and I did quite a bit of relaxing this Christmas - eating, more eating, and watching movies... it was kind of amazing. :)

Here's a quick peek of all that we were up to!

**

Barbecue at the original Rudy's

Texas "fall" - it came and went in a matter of two days, but that didn't stop me from loving every minute of it of the pretty foliage

Kelli celebrated her birthday with tasty mimosas and DIYs - two of my favorite things! :)

Breakfast tacos on the side of the road... and they were unbelievably delicious!

Mexican food at La Gloria!

Lots of scrabble and wine... the best kind of at-home date night!

Y'all - it was absolutely incredible weather over Christmas... In the name of all things festive, I had to beg John not to wear shorts around town!

We had a delicious Christmas dinner - crab legs, cheesy biscuits, a salad, and champagne... the essentials!

On Christmas Eve we went downtown and walked the Riverwalk; it was all light up for the holidays, and absolutely beautiful.

We watched a ridiculous amount of movies... and I loved every second of it - a perfect way to relax!

My parents, brother, and good family friends came down to visit shortly after Christmas, which was just the motivation we needed to finally paint the pink and purple bedroom the prior owners left us.

Note to self: never paint anything pink or purple (or any color requiring multiple coats of primer...)

More barbecue at the Salt Lick (gotta get that brisketttt!)

I'm tellin' ya - major deliciousness!

I'm feeling refreshed after the long break, and hope you all are too!

Next up, New Years family recap!

  1. Looks like you guys had a super fun and mega tasty Christmas time!
We have another round of painting waiting for us...but it's our bedroom which has a 16 ft wall on one side of the room--hence why we've been putting it off. But this summer we repainted a bright orange bathroom that the previous owners left us. (Why are previous owners always so weird?? haha)

  14. Uhhhh pass me the Rudys!!! We already miss the food in Texas so much! (Not that we have really explored much here yet, haha.) We went to Salt Lick in like the middle of July and it was sooo hot outside I wasn't in the mood to eat hot food, and so in my memory I didn't really like it, but looking at these pictures now...I'll take some of that too lol. Really, I'm just starving right now and have lasagna in the oven, which takes forever! Reading blogs sometimes is like seeing food commercials on tv haha. Also, I've been dying to see pictures of your new puppy. Coming home soon??? Or did that fall through? I may be late..I'm so behind on reading blogs.

    xx
