Winter Nesting Essentials

There is something about the months of November and December that require a good deal of snuggling up in front of the television, watching college sports, and getting ready for the upcoming holidays. And with having a baby only two weeks old, the lack of night time sleep only further encourages the winter nesting.

With the weather in San Antonio finally cooling down and Thanksgiving only two weeks away (what?!), it seemed like the appropriate time to break out possibly the coziest Pottery Barn pieces ever.

All winter nesting requires warm blankets and a plethora of pillows... and these faux fur pieces cannot be beat. And I mean, really, how can you resist snuggling up with this baby and warm blanket?! Makes my momma heart sing. :)

Along with pillows and blankets, winter nesting wouldn't be complete without a pair of cozy slippers (and a show or two, to binge watch on television!). Throw in a peppermint mocha and a fresh baby (preferably happy!), and you've got yourself one content girl!

Faux Fur Booties in Gathered Ivory Tipped

One of my favorite parts of winter nesting is all of the warm textures. It's easy to add different colors or patterns into your existing decor, but there is something extra cozy when it comes to textured items like faux fur. Not to mention the fact that faux fur has the added benefit over real fur of being more durable and less expensive (more bang for your buck over several seasons!).

And let's be real, faux fur goes with just about everything... I even had to convince John that we shouldn't move the pillows and blanket into our bedroom at night! When we sit down in the evening to watch something on television, I have to fight my husband and my dogs on who gets to cuddle with the blanket!

What are your winter nesting essentials? Blankets, pillows, Netflix?
I'm on maternity leave and need to winterize my home, so send all inspiration! :)

  5. This looks like heaven because I am fricking freezing!!!! You're from a warm state (AZ right??) so you probably grew up this way, but being new to the "south" I thought I could handle the Texas winter, but I AM SO COLD. It's only like...70 degrees haha. I've decided our next place MUST have a fireplace. Or I could just get some of these fur blankets and wear them around like a dress at home hahaha.
